At times it feels like nature calls to me, in the wind, the waves, the trees. I feel fully complete and tangible when I am within nature. In those moments I reflect about who I am and what life is. Seeing the world around us change yet inherently be the same changes us way more than we all realize. My work is an attempt to mirror those reflections. 

 

I make art to examine and process my personal connections, whether that is a person, place, or thing. Making art that depicts the places I have seen, makes those places eternally physical for me in the process. Feeling the textures I use to shape an image roots my memories to the physical. I analyze the landscape and my memories of the space and then blend them together to portray how I perceive it, in hopes to depict the awe or clarity I felt in those moments. When I make pieces for others I have the intention of doing the same for the person. Attaching a special moment or memory to a physical piece, or using my own memories to evoke the intended emotions.
